- Education beyond classrooms truly opens up a new channel called “co-visual learning†(see to learn or see to believe). We value students’ exposure outside the academic front in our teaching-learning process. Co-curricular activities such as athletics, sports and games, archery, taekwondo, accomplishments in fine and performing arts, field trips and study tours etc are among the pillars of our academic curriculum. We have incorporated skills in art and craft, robotics, ICT etc into our regular curriculum. Learning is more composite in NSKIS with activities on athletics, fine and performing arts, music, dance, literature, painting, etc.
- Children are periodically taken out of the classrooms, especially during the weekends, to witness the seasonal/ diurnal/ cyclical changes. For instance, songs and nesting of birds, flowering in plants, hovering of bees and butterflies, soil and water-borne animals, ponds, lakes, streams and rivers, visits to museums, zoos, exhibitions and seeing rocks, varieties of crops, fruits and vegetables.
- Values like love, tolerance, peace, respect to teachers and the elderly, discipline, punctuality, cleanliness, personal hygiene, sincerity, truthfulness are inculcated through a variety of formal and informal activities and experiences.
- Soft/life skills in communication, debating, leadership, problem-solving, team spirit, analytical mind, reasoning, decision making, conflict and crisis management, management of emotions, empathy etc are. part of our on-going training for students.
